We treat psychological, emotional, and behavioral concerns using a variety of counseling techniques and therapeutic modalities that include, but are not limited to, CBT (cognitive behavioral therapy), DBT (dialectical behavior therapy ), IFS (internal family systems), EMDR (eye movement desensitization and reprocessing), and E2P (enneagram empowered psychotherapy). Counseling Interns

Ahwatukee Psychology Internship Program is a comprehensive program designed to equip students with the skills and knowledge necessary to become effective counselors, with an emphasis on allowing them to explore an interest area. Our program includes the following components:

Individual and triadic supervision with a peer
3-day comprehensive training program
Cultural competency training
Shadowing
Treatment planning from start to finish

Requirements include:

Bachelor's degree in psychology or a related field & enrolled in a master's degree in the field (for student or behavioral technician positions) or
Master’s degree in counseling, psychology, social work, or a related field with licensure (for associate or professional positions)
Minimum of 1 year of direct client experience (mental health case management, volunteer experience, or internship experience, etc.) preferred
Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment

As a clinician at Ahwatukee Psychology, you will be responsible for conducting pre-scheduling consultations, initial interviews/assessments, diagnoses, treatment planning, and treatment (as well as other appropriate assessments and progress notes to ADHS/AZBBHE standards).
